    Can I Do This Stock?

For the most part, even if they could hybridize from a genetics stand point it is not likely simply because of the mechanics behind it. Most of the Mawalians you may look at are mouth brooders, while the majority of the the CAs are egg layers. They simply wouldn't know what to do with eachother.

    Yellow Lab Sexing

Personally, I put them in my tank and if I eventually find them holding then they must be female. If I get to see them spawning then I might be able to pick out a male - LOL!

    Cichlid Woes

What Kiri is basically saying is, yes. Moving up to a larger size tank would allow you to keep more african cichlids and likely all together in one tank. Frankly, a 10 gallon for a yellow lab is actually pretty sad. As a beginner to owning multiple african cichlids I would go no less than a 55...

Can't tell you much about the 2nd one, but the first looks like some kind of Afra cobue. Not certain what region it would be from, though.

Is My Female Kenyi Holding Eggs?

Oh yeah, she definately looks like she is. Is she eating? Does she open her mouth at all? Since the other two babies are fine I would force her to spit. If you really like you fish, not the most pleasent expereince but, at least she can eat right afterward. She hold her over whereever you are...

A New Baby Fish Just Seen In My Tank ... Pics Are Here :)

He's actually brand spanking new rather than been in the tank for a while. Since Mbuna are mouth brooders unlike Convicts when you see the fry they will tend to be weeks while convict fry will be fresh out of the egg. Unfortunately, there was likely anywhere from 15 to 25 more that apparently...

    Hmmm...

Sure - the first thing you need to figure out is what type of Africans you want to do? What lake? Haps? Peacocks? Mbuna? Each of these fish do require the same water conditions, but tend to require different set ups as far as decorative environment goes. Of course depending on the dimensions of...

    Red Zebra Holding?

Buy an egg tumbler and in the future you can strip her once you notice she is holding. She also won't have to wait weeks to eat this way.

Might Change My Tank To A Malawi Setup

True - however if you look around or find a hobbiest breeding them you can do better. Look carefully at "mixed African cichlid" tanks at stores and you can somtetimes pick them up for $6 to $8. At least that has been my experience in the US.

    Tank Busted

I've been there - an recently. Friday morning I woke up to my 90 Gallon with a huge reverse smiley face crack running all along with fron to the tank. There was about 3 inches of water left!! No casualties, thank goodness. Still, I nearly cried multiple time during the 10 hour marathon clean up...

    Tank Stocking - 55Gal Upgrade

Some sort of Barb might be able to hold their own. They are a little more expensive but, I'm partial to the Green Tiger Barbs. Sevens a good number and they pretty much always stick together from my experience. It's even funny when you first turn the light on in the morning and finding eachother...

    Tank Stocking - 55Gal Upgrade

Careful with the Red Points. I don't have much experience with them as I just picked up 3 at an auction but, one of my trio has already nipped the tails of the other two. Basically, I'm not sure if the Flame Tetra would work or not.

    Id My Fish :)

I would bet A. pulcher - Blue Acara. However, it does look rather young and so you might need to wait for more of its colors to come in until you can be sure. I presume they just had the one? Surprised it wasn't labeled as a Green Terror or such.

    Puffer And Bb Gobies

    90 Gallon Tank Stocking

Don't know if this will help any as I have never had Demanosi but, I am currently keeping 16 various Africans with 3x Synos and 1 Common Pleco in a 55 Gallon and I believe I have just about the right amount of fish. No real serious aggression (had 10 before and there was some from a Kenyi)...

Can Water Loaches Eat Tropical Flakes ?

Never had a problem with them in a trops tank. The one I current have was owned by an individual who kept him in a tank with 2 Danios and a Dalmation Molly. I currently have him occupying my 90 Gallon with 2 rather large Rusty Cichlids - this is temporary while I move things around however, he...

What Is A Fish That Can Be Happy W/o School?

No, getting some bottom feeding to go with schooling top feeders is great. You won't have fish trying to swim through the school constantly and disrupting it. The majority of bottom feeders should work for what you are looking at!

Can Water Loaches Eat Tropical Flakes ?

Yeah - Dojo/Weather - same fish. I wouldn't expect them really to top out more than 7 inches in aqauria, though reports in the wild reach as much 12!

Can Water Loaches Eat Tropical Flakes ?

Don't see why not. My Dojo Loach swims the to top and snags flakes all the time. I also toss a few shrimp pellets for him to snack on but, he doesn't mind eating with the other fish.

    Chinchilds

Yeah - aren't chinchilids some sort of rodant? In that case, I would say 0. Mammals, including rodants utilize an oxygen intake system call the lungs. The lungs are unfortunately not suited for breathing underwater. Think about when you are in a swimming pool. If you go underwater you quickly...

    Female Green Terror In Trouble?

Well, she isn't eating as well as the male, that's for sure. However, she has been grabbing pellets right in front of her, though I'm not sure if she finishes them. She has been keeping to one of two corners and sticking her face in them and not moving for hours. However, when I went to catch...

    Female Green Terror In Trouble?

Alright - I ran home at lunch, made a little nook of the 90 Gallon for the Rustys to maintain in with a some gravel and the stones they where already used to in the hospital tank. Female Green Terror In Trouble?

It's an API Chemical kit - the lowest reading it gives is .25. Ugh - my hosipital tank currently has two Rusty Cichlids which were waiting for me to finish getting my 90 gallon up. The 90 Gallon is cycled but, I have no decor in there - no gravel, rock work - nothing. The Rustys are 4 and 5...

    Female Green Terror In Trouble?

I adopted a pair of Green Terrors several weeks ago from an individual who had been keeping them in an African Cichlid tank. They had been nipped up pretty badly but, had still attempted to spawn twice by his report only to have their eggs eaten by the Mbuna. I currently have them housed all...

Mine has had the same toubles since being introduced to our community tank about 2 weeks ago. Ghost Knifes swim oddly in the first place and if there is a strong current of any sort it will be even more difficult. This isn't completely a bad thing as it won't hurt for him to build up some...

    Fair Prices? You Tell Me!

Not sure what the conversion over to American dollars is, but even if I double it, those prices seem alomst a little to good. Breeding Pair Of Rusty With Haps
