This product Algone claims to rid tanks of green water. I've never used it so I don't know how good it is. Maybe someone else on the forum has and can offer an opinion on it. To be honest with lights on 24/7 your going to find it hard to get rid of the algae. Try this Link for more info...

Sorry to hear the algae has come back :( . I thought maybe your nitrates had gone up. According to the redfield ratio with phosphates of 0.25 mg/l and nitrates of around 14, you should have little chance of getting algae. Don't know how accurate it is though! :unsure:

How long have you had blue/green algae in your tank? Is your phosphate/nitrate ratio still the same? Have you made any other changes apart from adding carbon?

Doesn't say on the box what the active ingredients are. Maybe that would be giving too much away to the competition! :lol:

It's quite possible the low nitrates are contributing to the cyano. I'd be interested to know your phosphate/nitrate ratio when you get your test kit. Good luck. :nod:

You could always get the water tested at your LFS if you don't want to go to the expense of buying a phosphate kit. Do you know what your nitrate levels are?

How high are your nitrites ( sky high ) ? Seems like your tank is cycling ok to me . :cool: You can expect your nitrites to start falling soon seeing as you've got plenty of nitrate forming.
