The water flow goes in the exact opposite direction from that corner, the filter is in the middle of the tank so the water gets sucked towards the middle and it's on the far right side of the tank >.<

Oh, I didn't realise that could happen... I had wondered though because it has a controller on it to say what temp it's set at but the thermometer which is at the other side of the tank is always a couple of degrees lower than the heater... I'll tilt it now, thank's for the advice :D

Hey all,   So recently bought a tank and I've just been and bought all the decor etc... Got it all in and it looks great :)   However, I've just gone to test the pH of the water and I'm having a little bit of a hard time understanding the actual reading :P I'm using the API Fresh Water Master...

Just done a bit of research and figured I'd add what I read just to help clear up confusion :) Apparently ammonium hydroxide is exactly what you get when you mix ammonia with water as normally ammonia is purely a gas so it is mixed with water to create ammonium hydroxide (aka liquid ammonia)...

  I've just gone and shook the bottle and it doesn't froth/foam at all, it just looks like water and when shook has a couple of bubbles that go away quickly (as if you had just shaken water in a bottle)
