    Let There Be Light!

Well after researching for a few days now....I've decided to make the jump into a UV filter to replace my Emperor 280 HOB. I really don't know the disadvantages to it except it might make my fish immune system weaker since it kills off parasites and bacteria ... etc. But I do know the...

Try Jungle's Ich Guard (the granules). Treatment: remove carbon, do not change the tank temperature, no salt. Dose with the Ich Guard at half strength. Wait 24 hours. If ... ... you still see ich on the fish, do a water change and dose again, at half strength. Do nothing for four or five...

    Advice Needed On Uv Lights

Now that I have pretty much everything running the way I want in my tank, I have thought about adding a UV filter replacing my emperior 280 biowheel. ( I think the Rena xp1 and penguin 350 can hold the fort down in my 55gallon). So I was wandering if there will be any advantages or...

    Parrot Cichlid

As a owner of dwarf parrots... they are a very aggressive fish. In a community tank you need at least a few so they spread there aggression around each other then on tank mates(unless they are mated). I have 5 parrots with cory's, guppies, zebra daino's and angelfishes. And these parrot...

Fish Waste On The Tank Floor

I find getting a bigger filter then recommended usually does a good job at keeping a good water current throughout the top and bottom of the tank. I usually like running two filters, one on the left and one on the right side of the tank, that usually gives alot more chances for the waste and...

    Pygmy Corys

Other then the fact that they love shifting through sand.... Gravel lets in decaying fish food, and waste in between the cracks, causing a very unhealthy condition for your bottom shifter. Sand in the other hand doesn't have that problem and with a good water circulation most of the waste end...

    Cory's Dying

Maybe take a look at GH and KH values too. I've had a few Cory deaths that didn't seem natural! Cemex Mesh Sand ( Silica Sand) Safe For Aquarium?

I'm sure you are fine... Flowerhorn's get big and that sand won't hurt him in anyway. I'm using Aragonite sand for my tank, and I find the best way of cleaning sand is just stir it up a bit, then bring in your gravel vac to start sucking up the waste. Therefore your filter will get some and...

Are Sure Puffers Are Species Only Tank?

That might be true, but in a big tank.... Puffers need a territory that it calls it's own. So plants and hiding spots are needed so he doesn't chase down other fish or puffers in a empty tank. That's usually how some fish can survive with aggressive fishes, with enough hiding spots alot of...
