    Whats Wrong With My Betta?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that white dot that you're seeing at her anus is her oviposter and is perfectly normal. So that's nothing to worry about if that makes you feel any better.

People With More Than 10 Bettas...

I don't have more than 10 bettas, but I do have a divided tank and some tips for cleaning. I have the smallest python gravel vac and I put a turkey baster up to the end and use it to suck to start. Then when I'm done vacuuming the compartment I put my palm over the end in the tank(it sucks...

    Cycling Question / Bacteria

When I was cycling my tank I seeded it with some freshwater bacteria and I went through the ammonia stage rather quickly, but like you it took FOREVER to get my really high nitrites down(probably 3 weeks). I can't really answer your question about the saltwater bio-spira(I almost got it just to...

Why Should You Switch To Sw ?

That's a neat picture! I watched an arrow crab eat algae at the lfs and it was adorable.

    Newbie Question

My veiltails' top fins are longer and heavy than the shorter varieties so they never go up as impressively. Also, they just do that when they're flaring. I just got a new guy and it took him 3 days to eat and 4 days to flare(even with provoked with a mirror) so give him some time and he might...

    Knight Goby Stocking

I definitely love them and am probably going to get a couple more. I might hold out for boys. I haven't gotten my puffers yet because I'm trying to decide how many to get. I might only get 1 or maybe 2. The tank is 38 or 40g. Also, I have a tiny molly fry in a net that I'm afraid the...

Adding Another Betta Female To An Established Tank.

Female bettas are great. Sassy little things! You did what I would have done - take them all out and put them back in. Another thing you could try is rearrange plants/ornaments to upset their territorial boundries, but if you have your tank the way you want it you wouldn't want to mess it up.

    Food

When I first got my first betta, he went on a hunger strike for a week. Trying the frozen bloodworms is a great idea because once I got mine to eat something(he actually started on hikari pellets), he decided that he liked all of the foods that I had offered him previously. He just needed a...

    Knight Goby Stocking

Thanks for the reply :) I figured that since nobody replied for a while, it probably didn't matter a lot so I went ahead and got a second girl. There are two stores near me that sell the knights and all I've seen them have are girls! As far as mine go, I've yet to see them fight, chase or...

Mummy Let Her Babies Out Today

That's so cute! Congrats on the fry! My fish always try to eat their babies so it's nice to see some coming out instead of going in :P

    Knight Goby Stocking

My brackish tank has finished cycling and I'm beginning to stock it. My original intention was to get one male and one female knight goby with some puffers, but my lfs seems to only get females. I bought their last one tuesday and went back in today and they had 2 more females in. Should I go...

    New Brackish Tank

Ok thanks all for the advice! I will definitely be bringing the sg down after I get them home unless my lfs has brought his down some. Funny that I'll actually be lowering the sg instead of raising it! I'll probably just go with a couple knights and a puffer or two unless someone around...

    New Brackish Tank

I have a 38-40g tank(not sure exactly) that is on the tail end of the cycle(I hope) and I'm trying to decide how to stock it. I'm thinking about getting 2 f8s and 2 knight gobies to start. I'd like bumblebees too, but I can't find anywhere locally to buy them. The lfs does have 2 other...
