recently added 5 small rainbow fish to a tank containing 1 large rainbow fish. I have 1 small fish left. There is no evidence of illness in the introduced fish. My only explanation is that the large fish is a murderer - is this possible?

If I mix the salt with the tank water first and dissolve it before adding to tank is that the correct method?

The fish was put on it's own because it's a terrible bully. He's an old fish so if he passes I won't be too concerned. Removing him from my main tank has made a huge difference to my other fish. I will treat him but he will stay on his own .

I have 4 clown loaches I won't be getting another tank. I already have 3 tanks and the 500 litre tank is huge. I will rehouse the rainbow fish very soon. I will get him some tank mates. If anyone lives in the Macedon ranges in Victoria, Australia you can pick him up for free.

Thank you I think it's over feeding. I halved what I gave them last few days and ammonia is going down. I'm using tap water as well because it was becoming a real chore. I haven't ever measured GH or kh . I'm wondering what a 0 kh means for freshwater tanks. Thank you all for your help

Hi there my nitrite is still .25 However my ammonia has gone down- thank you all. It was 4 now it's 1 PH is now 6.4 Nitrate is 40 Should I do another water change tomorrow? Or leave it for a day.
