  2. Derekshatch

    cory eggs

Its hard to feed the corys in a breeder net cause the food falls through.
  3. Derekshatch

    cory eggs

Only one of mine has spawned. But it was an albino and the male is a regular so hopefully I get more common than albino because I like the colors better.
  4. Derekshatch

    cory eggs

I only ended up with a few of cory eggs because alot of mine got eaten by the tetras but so far mine are doing very well and I dont see any fungus. Hopefully mine hatch because they are turning brown.

    Can you over waterchange?

Not realley unless if you get rid of all of the beneficial bacteria. Also you dont want to scare the fish by doing water changes to much.

I found fry it my outdoor pond.

Ya and there is moss and mosquitos On the land part. I like to have the land because it hides the big filter that I have behind it and it helps to keep the pond clean.I also have leopard frogs that live in the ponds. What im wondering is how the toad got into the pond considering that it is like...

I found fry it my outdoor pond.

I put the gambusia in the pond before I knew that I had wild mollies in my backyard but they get along fine with all of the other fish. They also eat mosquitos which is good I dont want any on my backporch. I also sometimes get the gambusia out of the pond and feed them to my bass and turtle.
  10. Derekshatch

I found fry it my outdoor pond.

Im pretty sure that they are molly fry because gambusia or mosquito fish fry are longer and not as plump like molly fry. Also gambusia dont give birth to as many fry as mollies and if even one gambusia fry survived I would be surprised because giant mollies are big and would probably eat them.

I found fry it my outdoor pond.

They hide alot but this is the best I can do. Also there is a toad that lives in my pond.

I found fry it my outdoor pond.

I found fry in my outdoor ponds and im hoping they are baby wild mollies and not gambusia because wild mollies only live a year so I want to have a continuous cycle of them. Im hoping I get sailfin male babys.

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

I have infusoria and hikari first bites. I have a 10 gallon tank that is already cycled and it has a bubble filter and tons of java moss and there are tiny danios so that tank should work great for them. Infusoria also live on the moss so it is great for fry. Whats funny is that the female is 2...

    Suggestions for Danio tank mates

I have never realley liked the zebra danios because they are kind of bland but I have the longfin leopard danios which are my favorite type of danio and I love how the males are gold. I highly recommend getting some.

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

Will the baby corys be albino or normal because the female is an albino and the male is a regular bronze cory.
  21. Derekshatch

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

They are bronze/albino corys so i think they dont need a heater.
  22. Derekshatch

    Suggestions for Danio tank mates

Ya danios are fin nippers but they are one of my favorite fish because they breed every single day no joke.
  23. Derekshatch

    Suggestions for Danio tank mates

I had danios with tetras, platys, a gourami, pleco, and corys and they were fine together.

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

I can also put a breeder box into the tank and put some eggs into it so just incase one batch gets ruined the other one might be ok. It is ok to put them into a breeder box? Also I am using my finger to collect them is that ok because I always squish them with the credit card?
  25. Derekshatch

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

My male trys to eat the eggs right away.

Finally my cory catfish are breeding

I have algae in my outdoor ponds but I keep them in the shade and surprisingly the tadpoles that are in there realley help with the algae and my wild mollies love it outside. I have like 4 of the beautifull sailfin males and they are bright blue and stand out alot in the ponds. I have alot of...

7 tetras died when I was on vacation :(

When I was on vacation a couple of days ago and the power went out but thankfully it wasnt for long and all of my fish were fine. I have alot of aeration on my tanks which probably helped.
  33. Derekshatch

7 tetras died when I was on vacation :(

How often do you do water changes. Hopefully you did a water change right before you left. I always do water changes right before I leave for a couple of days to prevent bad things from happening. Did someone feed them when you were gone?
  34. Derekshatch

    Bloodfin tetras

I have big plants that provide plenty of cover for them because I know that they dont like bright lights and I think that he might be picked on by the other males but I dont understand why he would hide deep in my plants because he doesent have a torn tail from bullying or anything. If he had a...

    Bloodfin tetras

I recently noticed that one of my bloodfin tetra males was hiding. There are five of them total and they schoal all day long but that one sometimes hides during the day. Could their be any reason that he is hiding? If so what can I do to help the situation.
  36. Derekshatch

Torn Tail or Fin Rot ?

The fat ones are the females and the smaller ones are males. Females will have a plump belly after feeding. You should have more males than females and it is most likely a male danio that has a torn tail and is fighting with other male danios for the females.
  37. Derekshatch

Torn Tail or Fin Rot ?

My danios nip alot and it is most likely just a torn tail from nipping. Is it a male or female that has the torn tail? What is your male to female ratio because this could become a problem?
  38. Derekshatch

Zebra Danio males chasing each other?

They are realley fast and I stressed my danios a little bit when I transfered them to a new tank to breed. But when I did they layed tons of eggs the next morning so they should breed even when stressed just try to net them when you feed them or do it someway that doesent stress them that much...

    Breeding Angels

Then dont add as much methyline blue just add a little bit so it is light blue and not dark blue water that is what I have done.
