It is. I just had that happen to my guppies and it’s had rly bad impacts. I’d suggest buying some aquarium salts and some medication.

How long should I leave this guppy in quarantine?

It had been in the tank for a week it’s now been taken out in fear of it having a disease, which proved to quickly kill the other guppies over night. He’s shown none of the other signs the guppies did, Eg no white poop so I’m wondering how long as. A precaution should I take before putting him...

How long should I leave this guppy in quarantine?

Hey guys, as some of you may know yesterday was the worst day by far for me keeping fish with 2 of my guppies dying of what seemed like dropsy or internal parasites. The last remaining guppy I took out the tank as a precaution, despite it showing no signs and putting it in a 5 gallon bucket with...

    HELP! My guppy is dying!

The danios and corys in the tank look completely normal. All guppies are out the tanks. Is there any chance of the other fish within the tank being infected such as the danios and corys

    HELP! My guppy is dying!

They did have white stringy poop. It’s definitely dropsy. I’ve taken the last guppy out of the tank. What will happen to the fish in the tank that weren’t guppies? And what should I do with them

    HELP! My guppy is dying!

No. I read that dropsy caused by bacterial infection can be highly infectious. I added in almond leaves. Is there anyway anything to do with these leaves could impact the fish?

    HELP! My guppy is dying!

I think it’s swim bladder disease. The vertical swimming the holding itself in the reeds of the floating plants all suggest to me that it must be, but 2 of the guppies I bought had it

    HELP! My guppy is dying!

They looked like they were floating, they couldn’t swim properly and they seemed to die very quickly. I’m wondering if it’s swim bladder disease

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

They’re so underrated- I’m shocked they gave birth as well- and from last count I’ve got 18 little fry, if even 12 make it to adulthood I’m going to have to give a couple away to friends etc! I was told by this forum to increase numbers by at least 4 so now I can do that easily!

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

I don’t have a spare tank otherwise I would! I may leave the fish instead of putting in box in fear of stress. They’re so quick danios I’ve seen the guppies unable to catch them when moving towards them so hopefully should be fine

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

Thanks! I’ve got hornwort in the tank and loads of hiding spaces! Probably why the danio eggs weren’t eaten by plecos or corys! I’ve counted 18 fry which I think is an absolute triumph! I’m feeding them baby bring some baby fish food crushed tropical flakes which is going into the whole tank

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

Perfect, they have mainly stayed around the top of the tank, whilst most of my fish are bottom dwellers. Being danios they are also by far the quickest fish in the tank. I’ve boight baby food and will also feed baby brine shrimp etc into the tank
  31. Willbacon23

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

There are other fish in the tank only because I never expected egg laying fish to give birth! I’ve moved over thick floating plants and have a breeder box ready although I’m unsure where to place it in the tank, how to move the fry into it without stressing them etc etc

Most unexpected birth ever! Baby glowlight danios! NEED HELP!!!

Hey guys, Today I was watching my tank when I saw a tiny little glowlight danio fry in my tank! I was shocked to see what it as I had no idea how to breed them nor did I do anything to try to! I then investigated the tank to find 4 or 5 others in the tank as well! To say I’m underprepared would...

Rescued fin nipped guppy and sleepy corys

Thanks you! I’m almost certain surface disturbance shouldn’t be an issue-I have a spray bar starched because I have a BN pleco I was wary of needing high oxygenation so I have a significant amount of surface disturbance

Rescued fin nipped guppy and sleepy corys

Hey guys, i recently adopted a guppy which had been kept in an al male guppy tank previously at the LFS with a fin nipped tail. You can see the edges have been bitten so by putting him as the only male I’m hoping he will be much happier with 3 female guppies. Apart from keeping the water very...

Fin Nipping or Fin Rot on my guppy

The tail seems mainly intact suggesting it’s not fin nipping- I adopted a male which had a bit of a torn tail and the edges are much more uneven than that. I’d suggest you will be advised to medicate- to me looks like fun rot but I’m far from an expert
