So I was wondering are cherry shrimp mostly day time feeders or night time feeders? Should I be feeding them when the light goes on or right before the light goes off? Or sometime in the middle? Does it matter? Thanks

The tank came with a light that has 2 rows of LED lights. Other than that I don't know too much about it. It seems bright :) I think I'll get a timer and start by cutting down the amount of time I have the light on and go from there.

I have some Java moss in the mail. I'm going to have to give this a try.

So what's the best way to split the light up if I'd like to enjoy my tank in the morning and the evening when I'm home. Or am I better off just setting it up so the lights are on in the evening?

Cool. I like how the tank is coming along. My only other successful live plant experience had been some swords that I just stuck in the gravel and proceeded to grow like weeds. These are the first plants I've had that needed to be tied to something.

Thanks. I liked him best of the bettas at the local large pet store but its so hard to tell what they look like in those little cups. When I got him into his home with a real light and more space I was thrilled with how he looked. Since I've got him I think his colors have gotten brighter too...

So I just got some Java Fern to put in my tank. I used some black sewing thread to tie it to some rocks and things in the tank. I was wondering how long should I expect before it has attached itself to the rocks and the thread is no longer necessary.  Thanks
