Help, my albino oscar is acting weird. I read that oscars lay down on their sides sometimes but it's been like this since last night and it looks like it's in a lot of pain. What can I do? Here's a video I took this morning:

I use white vinegar and scrub the glass with a brush and scrape it with a razor. That is if you have time to take your tank apart.

Good point. But I have been gutloading them with bananas and other high protein fruits. Oh, and my bichir stopped eating earthworms for some reason. I think he saves them for the bgk. I use prawn sinker pellets as a staple but I think its a bit small for him now.

Did you have to change ALL of the water or just a portion of it? How did you wash the sand(assuming its a typo since the topic is gravel to sand ;p)?

I use sinkers and earthworms so its really hard to scoop them out. Anyway, I think I found the main cause. I have been feeding my BGK chopped frozen earthworms, and I noticed that he had been hiding the worms. I'm impressed but at the same time worried. Has he been hording the worms I feed him...

not really. I try to put in only as much as they can eat. 10 sinker pellets for the bichir and chopped frozen earthworms for the bgk. and i usually remove the leftovers.

I have a Senegal Bichir and a BGK in a 30gal grow out tank. And while I was feeding them, I noticed a tiny white worm(there may be more...) wiggling as it floats around in my aquarium. Should I be worried? What can I do to remove it or prevent it? What is causing this?

Thanks a lot. :] Although I decided to wait for the upgrade tank(have them in a 27gal grow out tank) until I try sand substrate. Might save me a lot of time and effort(and money too) and might also be stressful to the fish. Also, I read that "ammonia bubbles(???)" are a common threat to tanks...

I want to switch from gravel to fine sand substrate, I just have a few questions: [a] Should I change 100% of the water or use half of it? [b] Are there any other things I should change, like the Powerhead pump that I am currently using? [c] How many minutes/hours/days/weeks(-_-) should I wait...

I think my oscar has indigestion. He has poo hanging from his "fish anus" and the worms he ate earlier still look like worms. Should I be worried? :unsure:
