I dont use the spraybar at all on my tetratec ex1200. like cynic said its only to create a nice rippling effect for us to see, Iv just got a 90/elbow aimed at a slight angle towards the back of the tank, this creates a perfect flow of water and plenty of ripples on the surface to provide oxygen...

Hi iv just bought a 2nd hand tetratec 1200 for my tropical tank, previous owner had it for marine. He says he's cleaned it, but just wondered what best way to clean it myself to make sure itl be safe to run. Would mild bleach solution be best or white vinegar? Any help appreciated. Thanks

I had same problem mate, got a huge piece of bogwood had in for a few months and no amount of water changes got rid of tannins, bought some purigen this week off ebay, put it in filter, 24hrs later I have crystal clear water!

bought some of these this week off frothhelmet, very fast delivery, must say they look absolutely great in the aquarium with the pink coloured shells, and are already at work eating algae off the glass. :)
