Yes the fish has barbs and seems to be Koi Carp. I have kept the temperature at 22 degree C or 72 degree F due to cat fish (Algea eater) which does not survive below 18 degree C. only this year. I have added heater as water temperature in aquarium drops below 10 degree C during winter months...

I have posted some more pics. I have a pair both shown in pics. From the serach on koi carp on net, it looks like one but I am still uncertain.
