Substrate - Sera floredepot and jbl florapol mix, black fine gravel.

Plants - blyxa japonica, Eleocharis parrulus, Eleocharis acicularis, Eusteralis stellata, Glossostigma elatinoides, Microsorum pteropus Windeløv,Cabomba furcata, Cabomba furcata (temp)

Ill post test results as soon as poss, only prob i have at the moment is temp is near 82 f without heater fitted. :X im making a new hood soon so lights wont be so close to the water (should help) if not ill unplug the undergravel heater too.

Constructive criticism welcome.

lol.......had me confused for a minute as well, and then i said nawww i recognoise that bottom tank.

Looks fantastic RYO, but i have to say your a brave man going with 2 x 36 watt, i have a small tank as well i just have'nt got around to doing anything with it yet, mines a Reckord 60 24inch, ive been debating whether to keep the existing light fixture in it (15 watt) and add another one or go with one 36 watt PC, hadnt even considered 2 x36 watt, but it should work fine a lot easier to add DIY co2 and get the right levels etc, definatly be interested to see how you get on with that amount of light, i might even follow suit if you get on ok.

Cheers guys.
Test results this am before lights on.
ph -6.6
ammonia- 0
nitite -0
nitrate - 10ppm
phosphate - 1.5ppm
gh-35.8 ppm
kh- 107.4 ppm (bufferd with bicarb)

Zig , i know what you mean ,I had no choice in changing lights as the ballast was built into a bar on hood and somthing blew (plus got on my nerves lol). I was a bit reluctant to go so high as ive been running with 3wpg with no problems(touch wood) but after reading his majesty Takashi Amano's books, most of his tanks seem to have huge amounts of light.(good enough for him , good enough for me :hyper: )
all i need now is to lose the co2 ladder as it sticks out like a sore thumb.Has anyone used the bell type deffusers and are they any good?(like the idea of glass)
Im waiting on my Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Phosphate to turn up then starts the head melt on sussing out this EI mularky lol

Looks wonderful mate.

Why not run your CO2 into your external filter inlet? It works great for me - the only problem is you cannot see your bubble count, but if you change your mixture and test pH regularly then it won't matter.

Personally I feel you have positioned the wood too centrally, the vertical piece is almost dead center. Do you intend dressing it up with moss/ferns? Other than that it looks great, it will soon fill out I'm sure with all that light and you can then really nail that nature style.

Is that bright green plant in the center Eusteralis stellata? Beautiful plant and should turn a nice red if you are doing things right. Did you buy from Greenline?

Yup m8 grenline and birstall

cant fault them, quick and plants where superb.
Cant fault yor plant id either lol
As for the wood they are waiting for the riccia so aren't in place properly yet( just need time to do it lol)so i have a bit of leeway. ive also got more java moss that i can chuck a stick at lol.
How did you connect the cos to the inlet?

Drilled a 6mm hole diagonally into the inlet tube and inserted the CO2 hose.
Excuse the child like drawing ability!
