more kittens

we have adverts here in the uk all the time saying that rescue centres are chock full of unwanted cats and kittens.... but just try finding one.

i'm starting to think dad may have been oriental of some kind as they almost look sealpoint with their little dark noses and ears. will be very interesting to watch them blossom.

Lol, I just had kitty flashbacks by looking at those little cuties...

sorry boo can't get any good ones yet but here's a quick one of three of them to keep you going.
I'm leaving them alone as much as possible (don't want to upset Stanley) so still no idea what sex they are, but can't wait to find out.

Well I don't know anything about the population of unwanted pets in the uk, but here in the states there are tons of them. There are tons of rescue centers, shelters and such that work hard to place animals. But the thing is there just isn't always enough time, money, or room to house all of them. That's why it is so important to take responsablity for what you help bring into the world. Not that I'm saying you aren't. I'm saying not everyone cares. I'm glad you are finding homes for the kittens. Our nect door neighbor up north lets his cats breed anytime they want. He lets them run around the town. He doesn't even take them to the vet. I bet if I asked him how many cats he has, he wouldn't be able to give up a exact number. So some people that know about this just take a kitten or two every time a new litter comes for their own personal pets and he never knows it. Not that he would care. That's the type of people I was referring to when I talk about the reason for so many unwanted pets in the US.

As you my have read in previous posts by other uk members, the situation is very different in the uk to the us. many people still believe that the animal shelters are crammed with unwanted litters of kittens but the truth is kittens here are in short supply.
i know dozens of people that have really struggled to get a kitten when they want one and have found the rspca and cats protection league just couldn't help.
Ask anyone who knows me and they will confirm that i adore my cats and kittens and spend far too much time and money on them.
when my kittens are rehomed they will be fully wormed, deflead, vet checked and more importantly micro-chipped (my details will stay on their records along with the new owners)
If i know the new owner so can personnally vouch for the home they are going to I will give them away, if not they will be sold at a premium (not that I'm greedy but if someone pays for them they are more likely to look after them)

when deciding to let my cats have kittens i don't do it on a whim, i am a responsible pet owner and have huge vets bills (just for check ups) to prove it.

The debate about unwanted kittens has raged in many topics lately and i refuse to take part in it focussed on my litters, so that will be all i have to say on the matter.
I don't mean to go on but if you want to debate this topic then feel free, but please not in my thread

oh and boo, not all got names yet, i've handled them as little as possible so far so still not sure of the sexes (the grey and white is apple and one will be bob just to keep guppy quiet  )

I'm not saying you don't take care of your pets. I was just stating that for many people in the US it is a different situation. That wasn't to discourage you from breeding since clearly you have stated you don't life here. I'm sorry if I offended you by it though. Next time I talk about US cats shelters I won't bring it up in a thread that you have started.

I think your kittens are very cute

But... Im in the UK and there are lots of unwanted cats in shelters near me. Admittedly a lot of them are older rather than kittens but i dont think its a good idea to make out that we have a shortage of cats in England  -_-

You said you know people have had trouble getting kittens - Were they pedigree kittens? As i can understand that. We had to drive halfway up England to get our Pedigree Ragdoll! But you can find moggies advertised in newspapers, vets boards and in pet shops, often for free or very cheap :)

My Cat had non-pedigree kittens that we gave away (and we kept a couple) but we decided not to breed her again (to a pedigree Ragdoll, the kittens were an accident!!) as we didn't think it was fair to put her through it again!! Im sure you're a very responsible owner and we can all see that you take very good care of your cats, but have you not thought of neutering them? As you dont know who the dad is im assuming it wasn't something you'd planned for?

Just a thought :) They are beautiful kittens though, i hope they all find caring, loving homes

Oh honestly  If you dopnt want people to reply to your posts dont put them on a public forum! You have two threads at the moment about your cats having kittens and you've said that Britain has a shortage of kittens!! Of course people are going to pick up on it!!!

But whatever... ;)

POTM on both sets of your kitties they are so pretty. Good luck with getting a second one,not that you will need it...

I think Stanley left her babies for too long (althought she only went out for a wee)
Edie, being th motherly type just couldn't resist a cuddle and stanley kittens seem to like her too.

good job stanley and edie are close, stanley came home and just jumped in the basket with them all :hyper:
