I love looking at them in the pet stores but that's about as far as it goes.

To keep one as a pet would definitely be a big no-no for me!

Don't think I would sleep at night worrying that it might escape and come bite my toes while I am in bed!! :X

WOW !

Is yours ever a beauty!
I would have one in a sec if I was not married! Yeah, that threating with the foot and the stepping on it, makes me not hve one.....
Beauty, really nice looking spider!

They give me the creeps, wouldn't dare hold one , or even be a few feet near one in a tank.

 I don't really hold mine alot either...one of mine is really mean...and as long as I make sure to keep critter keepers closed, no worry of escape. That pic is of my mature male Rosie. I have been trying to find a mature female with no avail...bummer. Here is my second Rosie, he is a spiderling..named Splat. This is when I first got him 6 months ago.

They really like being left alone...I only hold them once in a while. If you don't stress them out they build great webs!!! My a.avic builds the best webs...but that is because she is arial.
Here is Splat now: I guess u cannot tell here, but he is bigger. He lives in an economy sized Betta cup...lol.

Here is a cool Pic of my Red Knee sitting on the top of his cage. He is a nut, this a weird behavior because he is a ground dwelling spider..but he has aways been this weird, even when he was a little spiderling. :p

here you can kind of see his color. I have more spiders, I'll get more pics if anyone is interested...anyone ever see a tarantula molt!? It is amazing, they shed like snakes, but regenerate all of their body parts and internal organs while doing so! I have a whole molt on my digital camera. If anyone wants to see what it looks like let me know, I'll post em up.

Sorry, the color one didn't turn out. I'll take another one later. He doesn't like the flash, and he is my mean one...lol.

A man in Australia was caught smuggling in baby tarantula spiders the size of a 20cent piece through customs without declearing. He was holding them in photo film canisters. He was fined a herrendous amount of money and jailed for a short period! I have always been interested in them. But its not something i would keep around the house. Especially whilst still living at home.
