So far so good  I did a check at 1:30 and then again at 6 and just now at 9:30. We're going to a birthday party and I'll pull him when we get home :)

Here's a picture from last night :p

And one from about 10 minutes ago

You can see a ton of babies on the floor around him and there's at least three times that in the nest above bouncing around

Do you watch the male and female throughout the spawning or so you just make regular checks?????

What is the normal time for the spawning?? surely it cant always take 10 hours :D

Awww just look at his face in the last pic

Its like he's saying "geez nobody told me it was this hard bringing up babies"

I watch them closely at the beginning and then sit back until they really get serious in there. 10 hours is a long time, but she was really full and it was this pair's first time together so that may have accounted for the time. Also she is bigger then him where as his last girl was smaller so they did have to figure that out as well. :)

He's still in there...doing fine. He's not really picking them up off the bottom anymore he just kinda headbutts the pile and they all spiral back up the the nest

He'll come out before I go to bed tonight for sure, but in the meantime I'm watching closely :shifty:

Just took Dad out about an hour and a half ago. He wasn't doing anything bad, he just really wasn't doing anything at all  Unfortunately he believed that it was not time to leave and quite a fight ensued so now there are babies all over the tank, but the majority are around the nest still

I've added some more silver and a tiny bit of betta max to keep the ones on the bottom safe (cross fingers) Hopefully we should be free swimming by morning

Took a little longer then expected, but we are free-swimming  Zooming all over the place.

There are some dead ones that I was wondering about and can tell for sure now, but I have to wait for everyone to really settle into swimming before I can get the rest out.

Still have a little bit of a yolk sac, so we'll be having our first meal either late tonight or early morning. :)
