just found this this morning.

I have measured 6oz. of water, and put it in one of my DRINKING glasses. I have added the tape measure to show the size of the glass. The above has to be less than even wild bettas live in.

PetWorld here in Madison was packaging these in easter baskets, along with a little envelope of food and some easter grass - and with that purchase, you got a free betta.

Nice easter gift, eh?

To add a bit more perspective to their size, they are probably about the size of a small softball.

Makes me irate.
I shove them all to the back of the racks when I go into PetWorld.

My shampoo bottle has 6.5 OZ of shampoo! That's more than how much water that betta has to swim in.

Those are the exact same bowls my LFS sells their Bettas in... and they offer the bowl with the Betta for an extra $2....

$2 ?!?! thats about £1.05 in english money!!!!!!!

Cheapest betta ive seen over here is £4.99 (about $10)

They need to make an ebay law for this where they cant auction them off as being fish tanks or something.

Good one

I've seen bowls like that at one of my LFSs... they keep them on a shelf that's out of sight, though, and they're completely covered in dust. I'm not sure they've ever sold one

They had the same size bowls at the craft store yesterday. It made me ill to think of anyone keeping a Betta in one. Lucky for the store, they didn't advertise them for Bettas. Otherwise, some unlucky clerk would have had this to deal with------------>

that has made me mad

termanate termanate termanate i must termanate cruel fish tank seller. B)

calmed down enough to say i got my betta for £3 good shape and they keep them in a seperate tank from other fish (not all males in one tank but one male per tank) a full 2 foot untill they get bought how nice i even told them how happy i was to see the fish been sold like this.
