So after months of searching, I have narrowed my unknown cichlid down to Herichthys deppii. My fish was sold only as Depii. The lfs didn't have any other info for me. I wish i had a digicam But anyways, here is a pic.
My fish has a more elangated mouth, but i think as he matures will grow a more pronounced forhead and look like this. The gill plates look identical as well as the vertical strips. I can't find ANY information other than an article at cichlidae.com about a trip they took to discover new fish. If anyone has had this fish in the past, or has seen info on it, i would appreciate anything you can give. TIA!!!!
