What kind of syno is this?

I got three of these a month ago as Upside down cats, but so far they look more like S. schoutedeni :huh:

They rarely go upside down and look slightly different from the USD synos that I have seen, so I'd like to find out what they are

They are healthy and eating well, the biggest one is an inch long :lol:

what is the fish in your sig? and is it a dwarf?

A) Surinam Geo
B ) He's 6" and still growing

My eupterus looked like this as a juvenile

These guys don't have those spots and their heads aren't as elongated

yup not a eupterous. maybe serpentix ( or serpentis?) its the one next to schoutedeni. Looks a littel like it. Looks like u got a nice fish! how much if u dont mind me asking?

They look like very young Eupterus to me, at that size they have the crazy swirl markings that get them their other common name of Network catfish.

To me as well, the spots come at a later age when they're adults. (It's always good to agree with CFC when it comes to catfish - he's an expert

Well then I have another question, are eupterus aggressive towards eachother? (At larger sizes)

I have one large Semi-adult and these three youngsters, some might have to share a tank
