no fish :> Be cruel for them, its a 1 gallon. There are two feather dusters, a candycane coral, an electric blue hermit crab, a whackload of mushrooms and polyps, and a pompom/boxer crab, who's leg you can see in the mushroom pic :>
And here i was thinking that a small thank like that would be fun to try. I had no idea that something like that would be so expensive. I was wondering if i could do something like that with my tank like that, but .5 gal. instead. Methinks not.
canoe- the refractometer is eighty of that total... you could get by with a hydrometer, but I am lazy. A box of salt is twenty bucks, and the tank I bought was 35. You have the tank alreeady? And with no hydrometer...that starts dropping your total to around a hundred bucks... now the day I built the tank, what I put in it, the hermit, cowrie (which is feeding well, and seems to be leaving the softies alone), and live rock etc only put me out 30 bucks. 30 bucks is pretty doable
So with the tank being only .5 galons(filter and light), i could still do a nano reef? What would I need? a bit of live rock, some critters and something to live on the rock, and some salt?
a half gallon would likely be just live rock, sand a few softies that stay small ...like mushrooms and polyps, and a hermit crab. Might be able to put a small species of feather duster. But yeah, live rock for a half gallon tank would be like a pound at best, so 8 bucks at the most.
