Well, I have been talking for a while about getting a new tank, and today we found what we were looking for....
It started as a 12o gallon, went to 150 gallon, then back to 130 gallon (we had a fight :X ) then we bought the new one today
230 gallons of love...
First the wood to brace the floor (thank goodness our friend and neighbour is a framer by trade)

And this is the tank at home, with my 3 yr old son (he will be 4 in June) and the cat, going to take a nap in the new "fishy tank"

Motoro sting rays my boy!!
And they will be ordered 2-morrowo.
And some other fish to yet be determined..... :shifty:

Go saltwater! lol

You've got ten gallons on Navarre's new 220 gallon.. he just had it delivered today and showed me tons of pics.

Your tank's cleaner. :p And has the most adorable kid I've ever seen! That pic should be added to the users gallery! Then the next time someone says they're pregnant, we show them this picture and say "Caution :: needs at least a 230 gallon tank within the first 4 years!"

..Sorry. I'm tired. And making no sense. :*)

Yeah No salt water, that has been a disagreement in this house for about a week now....

LOL Nav and I should havea "cycle off" and see who is done earlier (keep in mind that the stand is being built this week and the sand will be bought 2-morrow with a new filter or two)

And I like the caution, maybe it can be used in a birth control method, lol!

Depends on how he's doing his cycle, though..
And isn't the cycle different for FW and SW somehow? His stand's already built :p

It's the perfect birth control method for fish nerds like us! Can't afford a 230g growout tank? No kids!

Hi Earthgirl!
Thats an awesome tank you have there! I have b een telling everyone that i am keeping salt water in mine but secretly i have been planning to seal the tank compltely and put the kids in there! it would make the house so much tidier and also better viewing than some of the junk we get on TV here!

Just for the records though (as i hate being outdone :p ) My tank is 218.01 gallons (Imperial) If i calculate the volume into US gallons (which i think you are using) then this tank = 218.01 gallons to us gallons = 261.81

As for the cycle race... dont even go there sister ;) :p Mine might even be up and running (fully cycled tonight !!! ).

Anyway.. back to your tank... Its awesome and looks very well made. a tank like that will command a very dominating position in most peoples roms, im sure you will do it justice and make a fantastic job of it.

Looks great! Cant wait to see what you do with it :)

But remember, if you are getting Stingrays, they will need a matured tank, so dont order them until your tank is cycled, it just wouldnt make sense to kill your stingrays because you havent cycled the tank properly.

You probably know about seeding your filters in other tanks first, to build up the bacteria in the sponges, This is the easiest way to do it, and the quickest.

Ben

TY for all the lovely comments!!!!!!
It was really hard to take little guy to bed, cause he wanted to camp in the big fishy tank,

What are the tanks dimensions Earthgirl?

Now having my plan screwed up, we now get an overflow filtration system
The new over flow tank itself is 50 gallons.
I can remeber my first tank being a 55 gallon long
