Hello all,

I had hoped to put the picture on the characin forum.

Does anyone know what the scientific name for this fish is? I can only presume it is a type of Paradon.

If you have seen them or have any reference on them please can I have the name of the book you have seen it in or web site you have seen it in to assist me with its identification.

Thanks

I'm afraid I cant help you, but seeing as this post was about to go to page 2 I figured I'd give ya a hand here ;)

Absolutely lovely fish though!

is it a bottom feeder? because it looks like some sort of Loach. The closest thing i could find was Botia Angelicus.

it's no loach that I've seen. the shape reminds me of a gudgeon. :dunno:

It is a type of paradon or possibly a type of characidium.

I can only assume it is a paradon, but which one is the question?

It does hang about around the bottom although it is very active and does swim mid-water and around the top.

It is definately not any type of botia.

I bought it as a polka dotted characidium or something like that.

Was hoping someone might have a picture reference.
