I'm starting off with the lighing I'm getting. I was told to get a compact system but I dont have $200 to spend on lights. i dont know their something i found on petco.com or petsmart.com they come in 20 watts and 40 watts.

Hmmm, well that light you linked us to will be fine for softies and LPS. You can probably get away with some SPS like montipora toward the top of the tank.

no the sand wasnt live. If it was live sand I would kinda have a clue not to wash it

$200 worth of live rock comming my way the week of the 11th!

My sister upgraded her tank size from 10g to a 29g. I took her Regent 5-15 filter, cleaned it out, and set it up. The water cleared in about an hour. It's crystal clear now
