I was just wondering... How do so many of you keep twenty-odd Bettas in your homes?!

My room is stuffed to the brim with only the two tanks, but only because my shelf isn't grounded enough for me to put a big tank on it, or believe me, I'd have a Betta there!

Maybe I'll got buy a hefty bookcase and put Bettas in that...

Try keeping twenty-odd bettas in your bedroom... :shifty: lol! I am forced to fit all my bettas, and my community tanks all in my bedroom. There certainly isn't much room for much else. As for the bookshelf? Why isn't that a good idea... (I speak from experience!)

Edit: I believe I have fit two more tanks on there now... :p

Let's see.... I have a split 10 gallon with a few bettas in it, and then just 1 gallon bowls out the wazoo!!
I've got at least 10 bowls in my bedroom, and 5 in my computer room...

I have a 12 gallon split in half, and a 10 gallon split in half. It might be a bit crowded if they were split in three's.

I have another boy in a 5 gallon tank, a female in a 2 gallon tank, and the last guy is in a 2 gallon bowl for now.

So... 7.

I am afraid to go anywhere near fish now, since five were all acquired in the last 1-2 months.

Hey, Julie, those look like the same kind of tank Drac is in. His is a Regent Starfish. Do your Bettas have their own lights and things? How do you keep them warm? Because my Bonsai is dying and that's the only reason the light is there. When it goes, my dad will take the light and stick it elsewhere, leaving Drac cold and in the dark again.

I need to plot my Betta-keeping-abilities again... I gave them up awhile ago, Drac is the only one, I think I've gotten out of touch with sneaking fish in quietly and then when my dad notices them saying they're months old.

Don't we all. I am going to a garage sale today to see what I can find. Nice sturdy table would do. Just enough for one last tank.

Be careful about putting them to close to speakers. When they emit noise, they casue the tanks to vibrate.

I wasn't talking about this desk, but the one with our printer, unworking scanner, and the other computer that doesn't have speakers. Not to mention the eighteen or so feet of sturdy shelving with fabric on it.

Hmm... -Innocently knocks fabric over-

Now, let's find some dead weight to test it.

I think I'm getting bad... Bad enough to convert my cousin from "Fish are stupid" to "Queenie DANCED today!" She has 8 Bettas and counting. Her first- Queenie- was a sister to one of my girls before 'the Incident'- she travelled from Dinkyville, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia on a plane.

I think I ramble.

None of those bettas have lights - the only ones of mine who do are the one Aquaview tank I have from Walmart, and then two 2.5 Minibows. They are kept at room temperature, and seem to do fine.

My room is pretty small, but I've got a shelf over my desk, another one by my closet, a stool (for the 4g), and 3 shelves on the bookcase on which I can keep tanks.

Only a few of my guys (and girls) have their own lights. They all receive indirect sunlight, though. In the winter, I keep the smaller tanks on a heating pad, so the temperature stays at a constant 78 degrees. In the summer they go without heating, and the temperature ranges from 74-46 degrees.

Our Weather here is pretty much like Thailand. So I don't use any heating.

My incredible betta lighting system consists of one corner lamp and one desk lamp pointed at the betta shelf!
