You do realise that Uaru grow to over 12" and are more difficult to keep than Discus dont you?

They are best recomended for species tanks as they are very shy nervous fish that dont do well in active community type set ups, i wish you good luck with the fish but i feel you may be very disapointed in the long run.

Very cool fish, i was about to buy one and the guy had it in the bag and all, but i told him where to go when he said "that will be $99 thank you" your lucky to own one but it is also true what cfc said dont keep them with other fish but there own they are very non-agressive, i even think a neon can take them lol.

I Agree they are Very Timid Fish,

The 1's At Dobbies were Always in a Tight Group and Scared of the Baby Sengal Birchir that was in with them.

This one cost $15.00 , and was in a tank with none others of his kind , we bought him from a chain pet shop , so maybe he'll be o.k with us , no telling who would have bought him .

Right now he's only about 2 1/2" long and about the same tall , maybe he could end up living with the leaf fish at some point in a suitable sized aquarium . I'll keep an eye out for 1 or 2 more , and another 4' tank , at least .

A good Friend of mine kept one for several years [ at least 5 ] with 1 pacu in a 65 gallon tank , though maybe not such a good idea , but at least I knew how big he'd get  , I'm confident we can keep this guy happy for a while .

Right now he's in quarantine , and seems content .
