Here is a pic of the type of thermometer that broke...the little metal balls are hard...not liquid like mercury.
anyway....here it is, if anyone knows what it is made up of let me know......I didn't even know it broke for several hours.

If the liquid inside the thermometer hasnt escaped, then u have nothing to worry about :) just remove the balls and the thermometer and buy a new one
 
it makes sence now the little metal balls are only lead used to make the thermomitor float the right way up they wont harm the fish.

I had one break in one of my betta tanks...it was in the tank broken for several days but no harm came to the fish. I was told that most aquarium thermo's don't have mercury in them...how true this is beyond me... I was very upset at the time so they could have told me anything to get me to calm down LOL but your angels should be fine :thumbs:

thermometers are filled wiht alchohol now right?
i remeber a few years back in chemsty this kid broke alead hrmometer :huh: got to miss a day of school
