Nice fish, the Koi's colouration is abit strange! I find it hard to put a name to it as it could turn out to be a number of fish as it ages and the colouration seperates and becomes more clear. I'd lean towards a Ginrin Showa, its certainly a Ginrin of some kind.
Thanks i think he's lovely aswell, quite small now compared to the other koi i bought this year, they'ved done so well, will be needing to build my fantacy pond next year
He's the only 1 that caught my attention the others are the usually you get!! I liked it's dark kind of murkyness!! Will see whats he's ike next spring, I'm not standing outside in this kind of weather with my camera now!!
It's good to see someone else that doesn't just go for the "quality koi" and gets a fish, because .... you actually think t looks nice...
I dont wish to sound like yours isnt a quality one... like i'd know...
TOP MAN... and nice fish...
I went to a fish shop a few weeks ago, and some pompus pillock talked down to me stating the quality of his fish.. they looked like the same quality to every other koi in his shop and every other shop... what a way to lose a sale...
I have just bought an Isreali koi, which Im led to believe are an infirior poor quality koi.. he looks bloody great to me, with silver and copper markings, like I've never seen before. my camera is really crap, but I'll try to borrow one to get a pic.
Took my dads shooting lamp to the pond tonight and boy did i get a surprise, all my koi that i bought earlier in the year the same size as this one are mpw a good 6-7inch and the colour deffinition on them is great, especially the Shiro Utsuri
