who got a new betta?

I went to Dallas this evening to a club members home to hear a guest speaker (Gerald Griffin of the IBC SMP) and.... I got a new betta :hyper:

I looove him,he's brilliant. I felt kinda bad taking him,but the generous person who gave him to me doesn't show,he just breeds for the hobby and gives his fish away (kinda makes me wish I took a female too) Anyway,he has these amazing orange blacks from a spawn of mustard gas of his and an orange/black from Marianne of BCbetta.

And....*drumroll*

Thanks guys.I like him a lot. A lot of his brothers had an oranger body with black checkerboard on the scales. I told him I'd give him some of my orange plakat girls with the checkerboard pattern because he said it was a pattern he wanted to work on and he thought these had weak finnage,it was a trade. :thumbs:

Omgosh they had two fish like that at the Seattle show

Like Steph said, there were 2 of those at our show - Victorea Earnest's (the lady I got my falx from). She is breeding the orange/black colors, and working on a CT variation. I think she might have been working with some BC Bettas or their relatives, so who knows, they could be related. I'll have to tell my sister that one of our amazing breeders has a possible brother, she'll be excited. She loooooooves her little guy.

At first I planned on an orange plakat as usual (aren't I dull?) but then I thought of a mustard gas.He's 5 months,the same age as my mg girls. I wonder..... :whistle:

They're turning into the table bettas after I swore to myself that all of my bettas would be stashed away in rooms

It's really funny. I loved orange/black on bettas so much I bought my own. However everytime I see another one, I feel inclined to grip my keyboard and :drool:

P.S. You probably know this already, but when I put my betta next to another female, he blackens very nicely. You should try it with yours. :wub:

he nice wuv, i was in a store the other day and saw a vt with those same colores, it was like a brownish orange with black trim, at walmart of all places -_-
