Fish Crazy
I just wanted to share the little visit I took over to the fish market here. When we first got there I was so excited to see so many fish items, you know tanks, decorations, fish, plants.
The first horror I saw was right walking in, beautiful bettas in the "ecosystem." The sales woman was trying to convince this lady that it's perfectly natural and blah blah blah and no need to feed. SO i went up to her and started asking basic questions and then flat out said it doesn't work. She said "of course it does, we haven't feed this fish in 2 weeks." I didn't even bother wasting my breath they'll say whatever to make money. THey were beautfiul bettas though.
Then further along, all these bettas (mostly red, hardly any other color) in tiny little cups and in these tiny bags all hanging around. OOH I felt so awful. Some were getting fin rot, others were just depressed looking, the microscopic amount of water they had was dirty (in some places). So I find a place where the bettas are in bags but they are actually in better condition than anywhere else. And I saw two and told my cousin to get, which he did and then I saw these two tiny little females, so pretty and just there in their tiny bags. I couldn't help thinking their horrible fate so I got them.
We also got jipped on the tanks. Supposedly on was a 10 liter (really only holds like 5 or 6) and the other was a 5 liter (only holds like 3-4). OH well...
Ok I do have a question, I put my two females in the 10 liter and they were fine.. then they started curving towards each other (like yin yang) and then they started like nipping/fighting. Ok I know I'm dumb for wanting to keep them together but I heard they are more possible to keep togther than males. Is that normal, are they setting whose the dominant one or are they just plain cat fighting? I have them separated at the moment.
Ok here are some pics of the new ones, still nameless
This first on has white on the ends of his fins, but you can't really tell on the picture
