After several fiascos of trying unsuitable tankmates for my rainbowfish I finally sent them all back to the lfs along with the severums and got 6 baby angelfish. I don't know how old they are but they're much smaller than the 2 angels I had before. They're from quarter size to just over silver dollar size and range from nearly black to nearly white, including a blushing koi! At least I think it's a blushing koi, I don't know much about the angelfish color variations :p

I'm sorry the pictures are so crappy - the angels are still timid and the sand was all churned up from taking most everything out of the tank to get the rainbows and severums

The smallest (and blackest)...

My blushing koi (?) These last 3 pics are bad b/c the fish were hanging out up top and the light was reflecting off all the sandy gunk floating around

Any help with the official "color" names would be appreciated

My husband is going to freak. He's out of town and had no idea I was even going to the fish store today

I'm afraid that last one isn't going to make it through the night :/ He's swimming funny and is now just resting on some plants :-(

Edit - Nope, didn't make it :byebye: I went to check and he was lying sideways on the ground :-(

The other 3 mostly white/orange ones are OK and the 2 little black ones are hiding.

:D They're beautiful!! I love the little black one in the second pic!

Can angelfish go with livebearers?
Thanks Sasha! I *think* angels can go with livebearers.... as long as the livebearers aren't too nippy. Angels are pretty easy targets most of the time with their long fins...

The others are looking fine this morning except the 2 black ones (the smallest ones) but they're just still hiding.

Edit - Sasha, on www.liveaquaria.com, they say that livebearers are recommended tankmates for angels :kana:
