New pond pics

Yep, we have to keep the pond covered because of Herons. Am moving the Pond soon, so won't have to worry about them bleedin birds!

I was thinking more like the stuff Barley straw comes in, almost like womens tights, but i really don't think it would grow in them.

Well jsut been feeding and more pictures after about 20 mins and lots of continuous shooting these are the 2 best pics out of about 150!!

Nope they get bog standard varitey pack pond sticks!!

aswell as anything else thats going, like cat food, cat biscuits, luncheon meat, maggots.

I love the vibrant colours the comets have, much better than goldfish :D I saw 1 of the golden tench come out the meat today.

Yeh we have 3 adult rudd out of about 20 we first bought as herons and snakes got the rest and after about 4 years of us having them they breed last eyar and i raised the 21 fry in my tank inside and released them on about 20th of August.

haven't you been to your LFS recently then? I don't think my one down the road has rudd at the moment, probable doesn't have enough room for them.

Congrats on the Baby Rudd then :D

Our Fish have bred just the once, years ago, Goldfish they were but none survived. I'm sure they have been mating this year but no spawn as yet!

Thanks, if you look at y advacar thats one of the better pictures of the rudd when I had them in the tank.

I also had goldfish fry that year which came inside in the tank aswell, some of them are almost 2" now and 1 of them i caught the other day when putting gravel in is completely white apart from the fan tails which is still red and he's about 1" yet there's still ones close to 2" that are brown tis crazy

if you have a tank bring the fry in for a year, there really simple to look after, I just had a undergravel filter with a power head, no hood and no real deco really, at the biginning I wasn't barely ever changing the water either :*) but they survived.

didn't notice some of the adult rudds where in that picture too  one of them is almost black on top and the other 2 are the ame really. 2 of the babies took a trip dwn the water wall into the bottom pond, silly things, all still well.
