I bought a Chinese algae eater from Flip. He doesn't have the coloring I expected, but his fins and body are the right shapes. I'm wondering if he's an albino. That would be great because I have an albino bristlenose pleco.

Just the gold version... not an albino. This gold variety is sold all over the world. So, you were actually looking for the wild color?
True albino’s have no color in their eyes, pink eyes… when the eye color is normal, I’ve seen sellers call them albino, but I think the term is leucistic

I was just surprised when I got him. I like his coloring better than the wild version. It was a pleasant surprise.
