Finally got my “last” order of fish. Atleast for this tank. Got a male and female red top zebra. Male is around 3.5” and female is around 3”. I’m in love with them. Time to Start to set up my new fry tank , my yellow labs spawned but the fry last maybe a day since I didn’t have my tank. But it will be set up over this upcoming weekend in preparation.
When I get home I will get better pictures !

Very colorful tank. How many adult cichlids in there?

If you want baby fish, put the pairs in a separate breeding tank and leave them there until the female has a mouthful of eggs. Then move the male out and leave the female to look after the eggs and young. The babies should stay with the mum for at least a month after they stop going back in her mouth.

Keeping the female away from the male for a month after she releases the young gives her a chance to regain some body weight so she doesn't waste away due to not eating when holding eggs and fry. If you don't separate the adults, the females have 3 or 4 batches of eggs in a row and end up dying from lack of food.
