You sure about that? Don't see anything on the other four.(I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious.)It's not the smallest fish in the world. It's something like the 5th smallest livebearing fish.
Do you have access to eBay where you live? If so, you should search them before it gets too cold.Heterandria formosa is one of the most under appreciated fish around . I’ve always wanted them and maybe it’s time for me to do something about that . I sure didn’t know there were even smaller live bearers than them . That blows me away . Now . . . why are they called a killifish ? Is that the proper classification or did a wrong name stick ? What’s the lowest temperature they can stand ?
No babies yet, as I've been(besides the one they came with). If you get them yourself, you should know they give live birth to fry across days one at a time rather than the whole batch all at once.Jonah’s Aquarium sells them . How do they seem to like it in your two gallon ? Have they dropped any fry for you yet ?
If I were you, I'd get a 10 gallon, and buy as many as possible! One to six fish are $12 bucks a pop and they go down to $5 bucks each if you buy seven or more from www.jonahsaquarium.com View attachment 354135
Yes , I have heard that and in that may be why they are referred to as a killifish which lay eggs a few each day . Maybe @fish48 knows why .No babies yet, as I've been(besides the one they came with). ONE IMPORTANT TIP I FORGOT! Whatever you decide to keep these fish in, start a colony of microfauna for a few weeks before adding the fish. That would make for a better food for them than dry food, which quickly spoils the water.Heterandria formosa is one of the most under appreciated fish around . I looked those guys up . They have a lot of good stuff including the white worm starter culture that I want .ONE IMPORTANT TIP I FORGOT!
