We have some in the store right now and I’ve been interested in the species for a while for my SA tank. They get a little big eventually (6”), but from a quick google dive, most people’s fish took a few years to hit even 4”. The ones in the store are less than 2” and can’t eat anything bigger than a bloodworm. I might not be able to keep it forever, but at $10 I think it’s worth it even if I have to take it back after a year lol. Probably gonna take one home along with some bloodworms tonight.

They're healthy looking African fish for an SA tank... you may make friends and end up buying another tank...

Alright he’s in the tank now but he’s hiding too much too get a good photo. I’ll try to get one soon!

I will probably eventually need feeder fish, but at this size I watched the ones in the store struggle to eat a bloodworm. 😂

At the moment he seems happy enough in the tank, but is very shy. He hides in the little driftwood cave when I watch the tank, but I have seen him out and about a few times when I walked into the room. Hopefully he will become braver as time goes on. If I need to, I might get some stem plants that he can lounge in so he feels safe in the top half of the tank.
