I thought this was interesting so thought I'd share it with you guys! This is the 3rd little mushroom that's grown out of the wood above the water surface in my tank. I think its so cool and I'm glad I managed to grab a good photo of it...

The last 2 grew tall and towards the light. I did a water change yesterday and this one wasn't there so it must have just shot up since then.
 
Cool picture… these are edible gold oyster mushrooms, growing naturally, about 10 feet from my hydroponic vegetables that are in my Tilapia tanks… 20 feet from the house... I could cook a whole meal, from this 20 foot circle...

The little shroom is no more. I checked on it a little while ago and it had shot up and had a lovely open white cap. I just moved the tank lid ever so slightly to get a nice photo of it when it collapsed and was promptly gobbled up by a very greedy and opportunistic Boesemani 😬 I have no idea what kind of mushroom it was so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what it does to the fish 🫣

It's a magic mushroom planted by the fairies, probably poisonous too because most of them are. Those dastardly pixies and fairies conspiring to kill us with mushrooms.
 
might be better than spores all over in your tank, & a bumper crop of shrooms decaying your exposed drift wood...

I never really thought about it that way. They come and go so quick that I never get to them before they've already started to perish...I left this one because I wanted to see what it looked like but hungry fish had other ideas

I think your pixie died of poisonous mushrooms long ago Grumpasaurus 🧐🤪
