So I’ve been trying to breed Nerites in a brackish 10 gallon tank that I set up 3ish months ago. And there are hundreds of eggs scattered about.
But.
The hundreds of tiny snails that are littering my tank do not look like nerites.
They have spiral shells.
I’m sure they are in my other tanks as well, but the sheer concentration of them in my 10 gallon is staggering.
All the dark spots on the sand are the mystery snails.
Before I made the tank brackish… it was a waste freshwater I didn’t really maintain so it was like a swamp when I finally emptied it out, put new sand, and started from scratch. And the only occupants were two assassin snails which have since moved on.
