Well, the black markings on a G.holbrooki differs pr individual specimen. So yes, there are specimens that do look like zombies but also specimens that look really attractive. Btw, G.holbrooki can also have non blotched specimens like G.affinis.Isn't it kind of funny how some totally healthy fish can look like they are on their deathbed? Not in any way putting down the imaged fish but it sort of looks like a zombie.
I do love them. They do well with goodeids, btw. With the exception of bulldog splitfins. For those will eat them.

Oh, I've even seen them eaten fish of ¾ their size. Took a bit longer before digestion. I'm still amazed how far their mouths can open to swallow such a sized fish. But this splitfin does have the potential to grow up large (about 15cm). Mine weer max about 10-12cm as a fullgrown adult.View attachment 328479
