Hello. I have a small regular dark-bellied blotchy upside down catfish. A friend of mine got me another pair but since I’m novice to this type of cat, I want to seek your expertise if this is indeed an UD Cat. The belly isn’t dark but the tropical fish store (not chain pet store) said it’s an upside down. Thoughts?
I’ve only seen it upside down once when it went to the surface.

I’ve seen thousands of nigriventris and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one without the blotchy pattern.
Not sure which Syno it is though. How big is it? It kinda reminds me of Microsynodontis.

It’s about 1.5” long it’s got a few small spots. My friend said the tank has really large “UD Cats” like 5-6” long and 2” wide.

Ahh crap I don’t want these but I’m worried the store just might flush these down and I’ll feel bad.
