Also known as pond snails and trapdoor snails. One of the Physid species.

They usually arrive on live plants and many people consider them to be pests. They are actually a useful part of a tank's ecosystem provided their numbers don't get out of control. Not overfeeding the fish and removing uneaten food (there shouldn't be any!) and bits of dead plant help with population control.

Thanks is it able to reproduce on its own by any chance?

Physids are simultaneous hermaphrodites, but prefer to mate to reproduce. Self-fertilization is possible, but not as common as reports in the hobby might suggest. In fact, the majority of aquarium cases of a single snail laying fertilized eggs are probably due to the snail having mated some time before being introduced. Physids can mate at a fairly small size and store sperm for some length of time. A single mating can result in many fertilized clutches spread out over as much as a few months. Eggs clusters are enclosed in a mass of jelly about 4-5mm long.
From one of the stickies on snails.

However, if you've found one, there will be more.

Get ready for an invasion... They will breed... A lot

Mine don't, and neither do those pest ramhorns ;) But then I don't over feed the fish and I remove dead bits of plant etc.

Ah perfect thanks I've had a few plant leaves go rotten so it must be feeding on that just hope it doesn't spiral out of control and become a competitor for my nerite for food

Yup it is easy to control when you know how to
