Calling all Plecos.....

So, what species are permitted in this? For example, are Paneque's allowed what about Whiptails. What is and isn't a Pleco. I personally don't class bristle nose cats as plecos.

Drop in an algae wafer and they may come out to eat… mine does.

For the contest, Bistlenose are considered plecos. Also plecos that are designated starting with “L” qualify.

So Panaque nigrolineatus doesn't qualify and Hypancistrus zebra won't either. I am doing this so the members are clear about what is a pleco

Paneques would be allowed. Whiptails would not qualify. Corydoras do not qualify.

Here’s a definition for a Pleco

Think they are awesome. Some pics of the fish I lost some time ago. Still have 5 of the wildcolor.

What about the sucker fish which are classified as loaches, eg Gyrinocheilus aymonieri? And stiphodons? They are "suckers" but not Loricariids.

So Panaque nigrolineatus doesn't qualify and Hypancistrus zebra won't either.
Panaque nigrolineatus is L190 and Hypancistrus zebra is L046 or possibly L098 so both do qualify
