My water and what fish I can keep.

Tank size is really limiting. All Cichlids need space, as territorial fih, and a 22 inch cube would only work for a single pair of dwarf Cichlids. The problem is the commonly available dwarf Cichlids a newcomer could try are all from very soft and acid water.

Cubes are pretty but impractical.

I'll propose some work. Go to stores, and see what you like. Limit yourself to 2 or 3 inch fish. Don't ask the store staff, whose job is to sell. Note the names, and then look them up. "Seriously Fish" is an excellent website for that. If you have half-decent stores around you, you'll find a lot of possibilities, and be saved from our suggesting things you can't get.

I grabbed 4 live bearer's or "endlers" is what the sticker on the tank said... I might add more of these little guys.... I was really looking at hatchet fish as they would fill the top part of the tank... I'll just have to keep the duckweed in check... I'll post pics of the fish I added... Also I took back the EBA's and the golden wonder killifish.

As far as the cube goes.. I was trying to get the most out of the space I have. I don't have any room other than the old wood nightstand here... When I get back into my own place. I plan on getting something much bigger and longer.
