Hello ive had this snail for maybe half a year. He started growing cyano on the back of his shell but he is totally fine
Cannot remove it sadly

Is the shell still hard where the blue is?
if yes, then it's either algae growing in the shell, or the shell is changing colour.

The shell looks a bit chewed up. Is the pH above 7.0?

yes it is
i think it maybe is algae since that part is not smooth

yeah i know, the ph is above 7, back then when i was not a good fish keeper i was not aware of gh, but i got some limestone, egg shells and they have got good new growth

this tank has driftwood but is it the ph or gh that matters because i think i can keep gh high but ph low?

The pH is what matters with snails.

The snail shell is mostly made from calcium carbonate and that dissolves in acid water (pH below 7.0). If the snail is kept in water with a pH below 7.0, the shell slowly dissolves and becomes pitted or disappears. The lower the pH, the faster the shell dissolves.
