OK, I know I've asked this before, but it was more than five minutes ago so I've forgotten, and I can't find the thread. Angelfish with 5-10 diamond tetras in a 150g? Yes or no? Fin nippage danger? Please share your expertise, as I've never kept diamonds before but I hear they're easy to please, and they would look stunning in this new scape I'm building.

I wouldn't worry about fin nipping here. The issue of concern might be the activity level of the diamond tetras (Moenkhausia pittieri) but perhaps not overly so. I had a large group (started out as nine, but with fry regularly appearing it ended up more than 60 when I gave them to a local store) for several years and to be honest I personally would not consider them in with angelfish. Not only are they perhaps too active, they are also bang in the same level in the aquarium (mid range).

I would suggest a larger group if you do decide on diamonds. The 10 would be minimum (9 or ten) with an approximately even ratio of male/female.

Take a look at my 120, I now have a pair of angels with diamonds and a bunch of other tetras as well as some (6) laetacara araguaiae and a wild blue acara female. They are doing well.
The angels are Glits n' Glamour and Pretzel Slims.

Its a little cloudy because they were fed earlier.

I think a 150 would be a big enough tank for then to grow up in (the diamonds and angels).
