So when I bought my tank a few months ago it came with one unsexiest keyhole ( full grown ) , yesterday I went out and bought another full grown one . The old one has been dramatically chasing the other to the point the new one is lying in some plants practically stuck. Will they stop this ?? Pls help

Never buy one fish at a time or only 2.
Always buy 3 or more to prevent one picking on the other.
I think your only option is to return the new fish or add another 2-3 or even more to spread out the aggression.
You can temporarily put a divider if you have.

Is there no way to help them get over it ? My friend brought it from quite a long way away

i have no info on this but
nice plants!!

Keyholes are a very placid cichlid so not entierly wrong but they are still a cichlid. Adding a new cichlid of any species to an established tank is always risky but with the same species would be particularly problematic.

I wouldnt add more here but would try and separate the new one from the old.

Ok , I’m going to return him but can’t for a week - what should I do until then , I don’t have another tank or partitioner ! Lesson learnt don’t listen to the shops

It should be fine for the time being, just not long term.
