She is one of the 2 fish from the first brood. she has lockjaw and dropsy, to the state that it is untreatable, and she looks miserable.
should I do the "bonk?"?

R. I. P.

I have a dying guppy at home, and I am wondering what the best way to do it was...?

yep, feel like something is missing already...... one of the most lively fish.. is no more...
I know how you feel, all my guppies died of ich (the lighting was awful and I couldn’t see it until they started dying) and now the tank is empty. It’s like it’s not the same

get a rock or hammer, and bonk it.. i know it is gruesome but that is the best way.... they will feel little to no pain
if it is a natural death, let it do its thing

Lovely guppy! I told my sister last night that the guppy was dying and she started sobbing. Losing fish is hard for sure

It has ich, really bad. I raised the temp to 86 and have been doing daily water changes and substrate vacuums, but she just lays on the substrate and gasps like she can’t breathe

oh no!! try garlic, salt, and ich cures? if she cant make it yeah, bonk

Thank you for the advice! At this point she looks miserable, it makes me sad to see her. All her friends have passed away, and I didn’t realize before that guppies and bettas have different water parameters needs, and there’s a betta in the tank with her. I think the kindest thing to do would be bonk her and bury her

ah, just noticed one of my guppies is getting old, 2nd guppy... she has a bent spine from getting pregnant like 5 times, and shes started to slow down.... is a bit more lethargic but completely healthy

Wow! It definitely is easier when they’re a good old age.
