I'm surprised you are having trouble since both cherry barbs and goldfish are both Cyprinidaes
Thanks for this info. The holes in the mesh that I'm using is 5m, any size mesh will do as long as the fish dont swim through it the egg very tiny seems smaller than a pinhead The eggs are adhesive so not all the eggs would drop through the holes I usually end up with about 40_50 eggs which is more than enough for home breeding I don't use fish tank heaters I space heat the room temperature stays at 22 C
Big difference even so. Goldfish eggs are large enough to easily see and they drop them all at once. They don’t spawn for hours at a time either. . Once the eggs are dropped, they’re done. Then simply move the eggs to the breeding tank. The barbs breed for hours and only drop a few eggs at a time. Very tiny to collect too so spawning has to occur in a breeding tank instead of moving the eggs afterwards as we do in goldfish breeding. As you can see below, goldies were never an issue for me. This was my first attempt too at the barbs as I scratched the first one. Let me try a few times. I’ll get them.I'm surprised you are having trouble since both cherry barbs and goldfish are both Cyprinidaes
