So Many Babies

And now my trilineatus are at it again. Some eggs collected where I can find them lol

Somehow a couple eggs of mine have hatched underdeveloped, like premie cory babies. A total of 4 have hatched this way, 2 have died.

I'm not sure why they hatched like this, but I'm going to give them a few days to see if they develop, if not I may have to kindly let them go. Fingers crossed, I'd rather see these guys make it.

Top is one of the premie babies, bottom is a normal 2 day old

Lots of fry and so cute, I wish I had the same luck as you with my tetras. I just lost my pregnant ember tetra, she must have been stress from me having to move her while dealing with my leaking tank. :-(I even had added plastic fry grass to help hide her eggs and fry, bad timing :dunno:I have my new 55 gallon up and running finally tonight. Only lost her out of 48 tetra. My 4 ember males are swimming around just fine.

So the premie fry were all the newest batch of Trilineatus. Out of 12, seems maybe only 3 have made it...

My aeneus are growing fast.

Nest number 14? 15? I lost track. Theyre just starting to lay eggs in the nest with babies still in it at this point. I dont collect them anymore. Either the parents eat them or the older siblings do.

I *think* I have more females than males though, sadly.
Hey as long as you have 1 male and 1 female you still get babies :fun:

My aeneus are 8 females, 2 males, 1 juvenile haha and these 16 babies are the result of one female.

Oh yay! It could still happen then :D
Unlikely it could happen in the 57 gallon, too many fish that would snap up the eggs the moment they were laid, but maybe some day I'll set up a breeding tote for them and pester you with questions and worries and photos ;)
