So I have had my betta Horace for well over a year now. A few months ago he developed a white growth of some sort around his gills and after doing quite a bit of research I treated him with Maracyn Oxy and it cleared up on the surface but Horace has not really been the same since. He sits in the same spot all day and just seems overall depressed. He still eats voraciously but does not react when I walk up, when I touch the glass etc.
So in the last week, things have gone downhill even more again. He has developed some sort of weird cyst at the bottom of his fin and sits in a plant at the top of the tank and will not move at all during the day. He still eats but that is about it. On the rare occasion he does swim, mostly to get his food, he looks like he is just having a generally difficult time.
He is in a 5-gallon tank that he has been in for around 10 months now, it is filtered and heated to 74 degrees. I will attach a few photos below.
