Backwards timeline of my 58L tank. I'm pretty happy with the layout now though hoping my plants perk up a bit.

Current set up. After the big power cut some of my plants aren't doing as well. I've root tabs on the way & rearranged the tank a bit to give them more space.

Before power cut last week, I'd just started to add some driftwood & Mangrove Root.

This was the best plants looked before our power cut. Filling the tank to the rim really makes a difference @AdoraBelle Dearheart

Good to see a fellow is irish fish enthusiast. :)

Yay! I thought I was swimming in foreign seas by myself  it's a welcome calm distraction from the current mayhem. I'd a dreadful start with fish dying all over the place but thankfully sorted and cycled now.

I thought it was all Americans too . Yes I only got my first tank in march or so when I was stuck at home . Just changed my 54l to a 105 litre yesterday. Changed from gravel to sand . Love the Cory's. Only have 2 and a mix of others but going to get maybe another 10 Cory's or more soon and maybe neon tetras . It is relaxing . Up monaghan !

Nice tank! I'm gonna upgrade this one too was thinking of a Juwel Rio 125L and was looking at Nanus Cory Cat  and Orange Cockatoo Cichlid.

But it'll definitely be fish that are suited to hard water!

I'd two gold spotted common Plecos in my little tank and had to re-home to Galway Aquarium there on Friday. Gutted cause they were my favourite. I've 4 tetras (not suited to my water hardness), 1 Black Molly (not suited to small length of 60cm tank) and 2 adult platys. Also 7 Platy fry.

I lost too many fish to repeat.

Sounds nice . Bigger the better. Really happy with mine now . Love the sand substrate. I was keeping guppies and mollies and swordtails but they kept dying on me . still have some doing well. But found out from here that my water is slightly softer so the Cory's and tetras should thrive in it . Hence the change to sand . Was coming through drogheda 3 weeks ago .great pet/fish shop there. that's where I got my Cory's. Probably have to go back there to get more . I want a school of them and tetras ,and they should do well in my water . Loads of learning to be done yet. :)

I've ordered plants & driftwood from Seahorse Aquarium & Midland Aquatics. Good delivery & plants come in great condition. I'm bycotting my awful LFS. There's another one Limerick City & one in Nenagh (same distance for me) I'll check out.

I've only been to Monaghan to stay in Hillgrove House Hotel as a stop off when going to the Planetarium in Armagh. And went on a random day out to Drogheda to an Alpaca farm

I ordered some plants on ebay coming from uk . Never again . 3 days late and mostly rotten. Got some nice healthy ones in craigavon pet shop at the weekend . Never been to limerick . Not much in monaghan in the line of tropical fish . Nice to chat about my hobby on this . My wife has zero interest!! . :D

Yeah my husband says "why don't you start a blog" as in shut up already   Limerick had 2 small independent shops (one awful & must check out second) and then a Pet Stop. And they seem to mostly stock soft water fish even though Limerick us a chalky rock!

Always nice to see how tanks have evolved over time.

Very easy to forget certain aquascapes and set ups and when I look back on some photos of mine I start to think ‘oh gosh, that’s .....hmm.... rubbish!”

Cool pics and nice to see some Irish folks from over the sea from Scotland!

Keep up the good work!

I love Scotland. Been to Sterling, Edinburgh & Glasgow a few times.

Hope you're getting ok over there.
